The transmission is a conventional three-speed sliding gear manual unsynchronized unit with a single speed reverse. The paint is in good shape and has a nice shine. It has the ford wire wheels (including spare) and are mounted with 4. 75-5. 00 x 19 universal tires and tubes. Its windows are great shape, crack- and haze-free. The vehicle's lights are in good operating condition including the headlights and tail light. There's a modern horn near the grille and the car's bumpers are in good shape. The rumble seat is excellent shape, as are the steps on the back bumper and left rear fender that permit access to the rumble seat. The seat, headliner, door panels and dashboard are all in excellent condition. The speedometer, odometer, amp meter and fuel gauge are good working condition and the dash light also works. In 1929, the 3 window model a fordor was introduced as a deluxe model known as the town sedan with the deluxe interior trim and cowl lights and side mirrors. The car was restored a few years ago and everything was done to factory standards. The two tone burgundy and black has a great shine. The body was built by briggs mfg co in detroit michigan. This particular model a has the body number cl199-8914 making it the 8,914 briggs town sedan built in 1929. Total built was 84,970. This awesome looking car was restored with the original specification parts except for the conversion to a 12-volt system. It’s a real beauty, down to the cut glass bud vases with flowers and luxury window shades. It appears to have the original mohair fabric interior and original trunk. The interior seats, door panel, dash and headliner are all in excellent condition with no rips or tears in the fabric. The bright door hardware is in great shape with nice chrome shine. The rear view mirror even has a vintage clock in it that still works! The engine is a l-head 4 cylinder 201cu in 40 hp engine and can easily cruise at 45 mph and top out around 55 mph. The radiator has the heat gauge. The transmission is a 3-speed manual, the brakes are mechanical drums and the fuel tank holds 10 gallons. It has the ford director special manifold heater that helps with those cool evenings. The odometer shows 70,702 miles which we believe to be original but we do not have documentation to confirm it. The period correct wide whites are perfect addition to this historic vehicle. This car has the flag holders on the front bumper and it is ready to be taken to shows or to just drive around town. Only about 70 miles has been put on the car since it was purchased. The odometer now shows 1091 but cannot be verified as accurate due to the age of the car. This car is always garaged. The interior is mohair. It has dual side mounts and a rumble seat. Authentic repair kit with actual period tools in the wood box is included.
